 Subscription to the Kuroobi kai is 2,000 yen (approx $20).   The fees are paid by all members both local and overseas and are used to cover the costs of producing and mailing your yearly membership id card, the upkeep and maintenance of this site, and to subsidize costs incurred when Jundokan So-Honbu sensei’s travel abroad for seminars.  Part of the fees are also allocated to subsidize costs incurred for welcome and farewell events when Kuroobi kai members from abroad visit the dojo.
