October 1953 |
After the sudden passing Gojuryu founder Chojun Miyagi Sensei, in accordance to Miyagi Sensei’s wishes, in December 1953, Eichi Miyazato Sensei began teaching at Chojun Miyagi Sensei’s Garden Dojo (Tsuboya, Naha City).

8 December 1955 |
Budo Festival held at Naha Theater in memory of the Gojuryu Founder Choujun Miyagi.

June 1956 |
Jundokan was located at the site upon which it now stands in Asato, Naha City.
|

8 October 1962 |
The sculptured bust of Chojun Miyagi sensei was placed in the Police Gymnasium and a Budo demonstration was held to mark the 10th anniversary of Chojun Miyagi Sensei’s passing.

October 1969 |
The Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Kyokai was established with the Jundokan as the head dojo.

1970 |
The Jundokan rebuilt of concrete and steel constructed on an adjacent site (the present location).

20 March 1988 |
Budo Festival held at Oroku HIgh School to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the founding of Jundokan.

25 July 1993 |
Budo Festival held at Naha Citizen’s Gymnasium to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Jundokan.

11 December 1999 |
Dojo founder Eichi Miyazato Sensei passes away
|

29 July 2002 |
Memorial Budo Festival held at the Okinawa Prefectural Budokan to mark the 3rd year since the passing of Eichi MIyazato Sensei.

24 August 2003 |
Budo Festival held at Naha Citizen’s Gymnasium to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Jundokan.
|
|
August 2004 |
With the stepping down of Koshin Iha Sensei as the chairman of the Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Kyokai, the Jundokan separated from the Kyokai and founded the Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do So Honbu Jundokan.
